McCloud's Log, Stardate S1Ep4Ch4. {1 The Lylat System -> Star Fox 64 3D}
When I got to the Gate with Miyu, Fay & Dash, we all noticed how quiet it was. And after failing to get in touch with Beltino, I decided to investigate. Alone. What a mistake that was! If Falco hadn't shown up after I landed in the station, I would've been finished!
With Falco's help, I managed to get to the control room, where Beltino was being held. But that's when we got ambushed by the Anglar. Fortunately, my three temporary team-mates disobeyed me and gave us the advantage we needed to retake the Gate. While I do feel bad for being hard on them afterwards, I'm relieved to know that Beltino will be safe with them protecting the Gate, while Falco & I check out the abandoned Aparoid base in the Asteroid Belt.
According to Beltino, this base is where the Anglar are jamming all long-range communication signals. Makes me wish Slippy were here with us. And thanks to Falco, there's someone else on my mind, too... "(Krystal...)"

{2 Theme of Star Fox Assault -> Star Fox: Assault} Episode 5 - Chapter Five: Distress is the Perfect Bait (Part One)

Within what seemed to be the center of the Asteroid Belt, Slippy was being chased and fired at by Anglar fighters! {3 Terminal Velocity - Act 2 -> Sonic Colours}
"AAAAHHH!! Why did I decide to come here alone?!" Slippy screamed, before noticing that attacks from the pursuing Anglar were fading. When Slippy looked behind him, he saw a second Arwing that had shot down a few ships. Just then, a third Arwing appeared to be flying towards Slippy, and firing at him... but the pilot was actually firing at the remaining Anglar behind Slippy, and he flew through the explosion!
"Slippy, is that you we just saved?" Asked a voice that made a large smile appear on Slippy's face. {4 Mission Results -> Star Fox: Assault}
"FOX!! I knew you'd come back!" Slippy happily exclaimed.
"Should've known. Who else flies an Arwing like that to get some followers?" Joked another voice Slippy recognized.
"Yeah, glad to see you too, Falco." Said Slippy, with his joy gone once Falco made fun of him, as the three Arwings flew back towards the Great Fox.

Once the three of them landed in the hanger of the Great Fox, Slippy ran up to Fox and hugged him. {5 Route 209 (Pokémon Diamond/Pearl) -> Super Smash Bros Brawl}
"I missed you so much, Fox!" He said to his long-time friend.
"I missed you too, Slip." Fox replied as they broke the hug. "So what've you been up to?"
"He's gettin' married." Falco said from behind them, making Fox leave his mouth wide open in shock.
"Why does everyone freak out when they hear that about me?" Asked Slippy.
"Cause you've only known her for a few months!" Falco pointed out, making Fox's eyes widen in even more shock.
"You're marrying this woman only after a few months?!" Fox asked, before recovering from the shock. "I-I mean, congratulations, buddy. You two must have really hit it off!"
"We sure have, Fox." Slippy replied, with a loving smile on his face, as he thought about Amanda again. "I can't wait to be able to call her my wife. Would you be my best man. Fox?"
"You really need to ask, Slippy? Come here." Said Fox before pulling Slippy into another hug and patting him on the back. "Of course I will." Falco then cleared his throat as ROB approached the three with a device in his hand.

"Right. What were you doing out here, Slippy?" Asked Fox. {6 Mission Briefing -> Star Fox: Assault}
"I've been trying to get in touch with Peppy, but long-range communications are being jammed by some strange signal." Slippy replied while giving ROB a sequence of numbers. "I traced the signal here, but I got ambushed before I could investigate further."
"The signal detected by Slippy is identical to the frequency detected by Director Beltino." Stated ROB, as he displayed the numbers Slippy gave him via the device in his hand. As ROB stated, the frequency of the two signals were identical.
"Dad?" Asked Slippy.
"Yeah, your old man sent us here to take out whatever's transmittin' that signal." Falco pointed out.
"Looks like whatever the Anglar are using is somewhere within that Aparoid base..." Added Fox as the three looked outside the hanger to see the base in question.
"Brr... looking at it now... that base gives me the creeps..." Said Slippy as he shivered in fear.
"Warning: A shield has been detected around the Anglar transmitter." Stated ROB, before showing another device via the hologram. "What you see now is the shield generator. While I have collected its data, it is impossible to locate within the Asteroid Belt via radar."
"So even if we find the transmitter within the base, we can't destroy it without taking out its shield first. Dang it..." Fox pointed out, summing up what ROB was saying, before coming up with a plan. "OK. Slippy, you take your Arwing and search the Asteroid Belt for the shield generator. Falco, you're infiltrating the base with me."
"Why can't I look for the generator?" Asked Falco, feeling offended. "You know I'm better in a cockpit than I am on foot!"
"Because I think Slippy is a decent pilot." Fox replied, before bringing Falco closer. "Plus, I trust you on foot more than I do Slippy..." This made Falco nod in response. "Is everyone clear on the plan?" Both Falco & Slippy nodded. "All right, then. ROB, get our Arwings ready for battle. We're taking out this base once and for all!"

Meanwhile, within the abandoned Aparoid base, an injured Octoman was slithering to a command console, while other Anglar soldiers were either patrolling the base or maintaining the shield around the transmitter. Once Octoman reached the command console, he pressed a few different buttons before a hologram of the Anglar Emperor appeared above the console. {7 Bowser Appears -> Super Mario Galaxy}
"Forgive me, my emperor..." Pleaded Octoman as he bowed before the emperor. "I regret to inform you that I have once again failed to capture the planet Aquas..." With a growl, the emperor responded by zapping Octoman through the hologram! It was then that an Anglar soldier slowly approached.
"Forgive the intrusion my lord, but we have detected an enemy mothership orbiting the base." It pointed out, getting enough attention from the emperor to stop shocking Octoman. But Octoman knew exactly who it was...
"Star Fox!" He exclaimed. "Who else would be brazen enough to approach an enemy base knowing they'd be detected?!" Octoman then quickly turned back to the emperor. "Spare my life once more, and I shall finally grant you victory over these land-dwellers!"
"See that you do." Emperor Anglar replied, making Octoman sigh with relief. "But you had better hope that Star Fox destroy you, should you fail... because if they don't, your punishment by my hands shall be a fate worse than death!" Octoman looked very nervous once the transmission ended, and the emperor's loyal bodyguard noticed him thinking about something... {8 Event: Doom's Eye -> Shadow The Hedgehog}
"What is thy bidding, my master?" He asked.
"Octoman cannot be trusted with defending our disrupter..." The emperor pointed out, before turning his attention to his subordinate. "Zazan, I want you to go to Solar, and oversee the completion of our satellite. Should anyone interfere... destroy them."
"Yes, my master." Zazan replied as he bowed before the emperor.

Some time later, three Arwings blasted out of the Great Fox. Two of them landed in the hanger of the base, while the third started flying around the base. Fox & Falco jumped out of the landed Arwings. {9 Space Junk Galaxy -> Super Mario Galaxy}
"Ready, Falco?" Asked Fox. Falco yanked his Blaster out and started spinning the trigger around his finger.
"Ready when you are." Falco replied, making Fox nod before placing his hand over his headset.
"How're things on your end, Slippy?"
"Everything's A-OK, Fox." Said Slippy as he flew past the many asteroids around the base. "Although these asteroids are starting to look like faces to me..."
"He'll be all right." Fox told Falco, before he activated the Beam Sword he grabbed from his belt, startling Falco.
"Where'd you get that?!" He asked.
"This?" Fox asked back as he waved the blade around. "I kinda missed having Krystal's staff for training, so I had ROB build me this Beam Sword." Falco suddenly realized something...
"Ohhh. Missin' the missus, eh Foxie?" He teasingly asked while elbowing Fox in the arm. All Fox did in response was turn away from Falco in shame, but that didn't stop Falco's curiosity. "Why DID you two break up, anyway?" Fox was hesitant to respond.
"...I don't wanna talk about it." He eventually replied as he prepared himself for battle. "Let's just destroy this base."
"*sigh* If you say so..."

Just then, both Slippy & ROB noticed something... and it was numerous.
"Warning. Multiple Anglar fighters have emerged." Stated ROB. "They are targeting the Great Fox." {10 Eclipse of the Sun -> Hyrule Warriors}
"I can confirm that, guys." Slippy added. "There's about 15 fighters out here. I'm... not sure I can take them all out. One of you better get out here."
"Love to Slip, but we're in a bit of hot water, too..." Falco pointed out, as he and Fox were pinned against their Arwings by a large group of Anglar troops, who were all aiming their weapons at them. "What's the plan?"
"Reflectors on three." Fox replied, making Falco nod in response. "THREE!!" Just before the Anglar began firing, Fox and Falco activated their Reflectors, sending every single shot back and shooting every Anglar soldier that fire at them! "Falco, get out there and help Slippy protect the Great Fox! Should I take out all of the Anglar in here, I'll help you find the shield generator."
"Gotcha." Said Falco as he jumped back into his Arwing, and Fox ran deeper into the base. As some of the Anglar were chasing Slippy -what else is new?- Falco emerged from the base and shot down what fighters were closing in on the Great Fox. "Yo, ROB! What's the shield situation on the Great Fox?"
"Shield is holding at 96%. Main hull remains undamaged." ROB replied, making Falco fly away from the base in order to rescue Slippy.
"AHHH!! Fox, where are you?!" Screamed Slippy, as one of his wings was hit, making him spin out of control. Suddenly, Falco flew in front of Slippy's path and held position. "Falco, what're you doing?!" Falco responded by firing his lasers. Slippy shut his eyes, but Falco did not harm him. When Slippy stopped to look at his radar, the only Anglar fighters in the area were closer to the base... and the Great Fox. "While I'm grateful for that Falco, we'd better get to protecting the Great Fox!" Both Falco and Slippy then flew their Arwings back towards the Great Fox.

Meanwhile, Fox was slowly making his way through the base's interior, picking off faraway Anglar troops with his Blaster, and slicing through any soldier that got too close with his Beam Sword.
"Have I ever mentioned how much I hate the smell of fish?" Fox asked, before getting closer to the location of the transmitter. When Fox arrived, he aimed the tip of his Beam Sword at the head of Octoman, who was standing in front of the transmitter.
"You shall die amongst the smell, if you're not careful, Star Fox!" Octoman warned as he extended his four tentacle arms out on either side of him. "It doesn't matter, because neither you nor your team-mates will ever find the shield generator!" Fox then gripped his Beam Sword with both hands.
"Even if it takes forever for my team-mates to find the shield generator, we WILL stop your invasion of the Lylat System!" Fox replied, before lunging at Octoman. Before Fox landed a hit, Octoman blocked his attack using his tentacles, which seemed sturdier than Fox suspected! {11 Boss -> Mega Man X6}
"How else do you think I became Emperor Anglar's third-in-command?" Octoman asked, as if he was mocking Fox. Fox responded by repeatedly slash at him, but Octoman blocked every single attack from Fox... even going so far as to yawn at the hero warrior. Fox then tried sweeping at Octoman's bottom two tentacles, but Fox just ended up hurting his leg, giving Octoman enough time to pick up Fox and throw him into a wall! "You have no chance against me, Star Fox! It may not look like it, but I am living aluminium! There is NOTHING you can do to me as we fight blade-to-tentacle!"
"Wait..." Fox said to himself, just before aiming his visor at Octoman as he approached Fox. Fox made an interesting discovery... "Falco and Slippy will never find the shield generator out there... because YOU'RE the shield generator!"
"And like I said Star Fox, there is NOTHING you can do to defeat me!"

"Yes, there is..." Was all Fox said before running away from Octoman. {12 Metal Battle -> Super Smash Bros Melee}
"Come back here, you coward!" Shouted Octoman, as he jumped after Fox. "You call yourself the hero of the Lylat System?!" Just as Fox was taking off in his Arwing, Octoman wrapped himself onto one of the wings of the ship!
"Dang it!" Fox grumbled as he flew his Arwing out of the base. "ROB, Falco, Slippy! As soon as I get this... thing... off my ship, shoot it!"
"It's that guy again!" Exclaimed Slippy, as he'd dealt with Octoman before.
"Just keep rolling, Foxie." Falco suggested. "He'll slide right off."
"He's an OCTOPUS, Falco." Said Fox, stating the obvious. But then he got an idea. "Guys... target my Arwing, and fire on my mark."
"What?!"
"But Fox-"
"Do it!" Both feeling guilty about it, both Falco and Slippy aimed their crosshairs at Fox.
"Warning, you have been locked-on." ROB informed Fox, but he ignored it as he vented his Arwing's shield gauge.
"Fire." While both Falco and Slippy hesitated for a split-second, they fired their lasers at the same time... but Fox ejected from his Arwing just before those lasers impacted the ship, causing it AND Octoman to explode!
"FOX!!" Cried Falco and Slippy, before they spotted a teleportation signal circling Fox. Just as Fox disappeared from their sight, the Great Fox fired its lasers at the center of the base. This attack not only destroyed the transmitter, but it also destroyed the base after the Star Fox team were far enough away from it!

At that moment, Slippy was freaking out about Fox's bold move, while Falco was patting Fox on the back.
"Now that took some serious guts, Foxie!" Falco pointed out, making Fox scratch the back of his head in modesty.
"How did you know you'd survive out in space without any oxygen?!" Asked Slippy, who seemed very distraught.
"Hey, I made the sacrifice play, and I pulled it off! No harm done." Fox replied, before Falco gave him a playful shove.
"Watch it, cause that's my thing." Both Fox & Falco chuckled at that before a holographic light emerged from the table that read 'INCOMING TRANSMISSION' "Hey, our phone privileges are back!" {13 Meteo -> Star Fox 64 3D}
"Looks like it's coming from Peppy." Slippy pointed out.
"Put it through, Slippy." Stated Fox. Just then, the text turned into a hologram of Peppy's head. "General, it's good to hear from you again."
"And it's good to see that you and Falco found Slippy." Added Peppy.
"I've actually got something important to say-" Slippy pointed out, but he was inturrupted.
"I'm sorry Slippy, but we're getting distress signals all over the Lylat System!" Peppy pointed out.
"(Just as Beltino thought...) Where's the closest one, sir?" Asked Fox, before the hologram changed from Peppy's head to an ice planet that this team knew all too well... "Fichina."
"Fox... my daughter has been transmitting that signal for almost 24 hours at this point... it's a miracle that Lucy hasn't been found yet... bring her back to me, Fox."
"We're on it, Peppy." Fox replied, just before the transmission ended. "ROB, set course for Fichina. Slippy, once he's done with that, help ROB build me an new Arwing." Slippy saluted Fox before running off of the bridge. "(We're coming, Lucy. Just hang in there a little longer...)"
