Despite failing to capture Corneria and Aquas, the rise of the Anglar Empire is going well. My forces are currently invading every corner of the Lylat System, eliminating every threat to my rule. Those traitors who occupied the base within the Sargasso Space Zone have learned that first-hand. And I was right to trust that Oikonny to lead my troops, as I have heard of his invasion into Fichina.
My forces may have failed to capture Corneria before... but once the Orbital Gate is ours, we shall crush the Cornerian resistance with one swift stroke!

Within Amanda's home on Aquas, Slippy was talking to Peppy about what he'd discovered, when there was suddenly nothing but static, making Slippy gently slam his hand on the console. {3 Aurum Island -> Kid Icarus Uprising}
"Darn it!" He exclaimed, getting his fiance's attention.
"What's wrong, Slippy?" She asked.
"I was just about to tell General Peppy what I'd discovered about the Anglar, but it looks like the signal's jammed again." Slippy replied, making Amanda place her hands on Slippy's shoulders, calming him slightly.
"It's okay, sweetie." She told him. "You'll tell him eventually. Even if you have to tell him in person..." Suddenly, a light turned on in Slippy's head.
"That's it. I just need to get to my Arwing!" He said before getting out of his chair and giving Amanda a kiss before running towards an elevator. However, Amanda noticed a large number of Anglar approaching on radar, making her run towards that same elevator!

A short time later, Slippy was in the Blue-Marine, desperate to get to the surface of Aquas, when he spotted something on radar...
"Uh-oh, more Anglar!" He exclaimed, before seeing the image of what appeared to be a hammerhead shark on his communicator screen.
"That's right, Star Fox!" He replied. "Octoman has ordered me to destroy you in order to claim this planet for the Anglar!"
"And you'd better do it right Zako, or you're fish food!" Added Octoman. Zako then fired lasers at Slippy, but he rolled to deflect the attack. It was then that pairs of lasers struck Zako from behind Slippy!
"You dare to attack the almighty Zako?!" The shark asked, before spotting a ship that resembled a tadpole, which Slippy recognized right away...
"Amanda?! What're you doing here?!" He asked in horror.
"This is my home, Slippy. And I have every intention of defending it with you." Amanda told her fiance, making the both of them blush when they looked at each other.
"How touching..." Exclaimed Octoman, before aiming at Amanda's ship. "If you are with Star Fox, then you shall die with them!"

Meanwhile, the Great Fox had reached the Orbital Gate, which was in a high orbit of Corneria. Despite General Peppy's fears, things seemed quite calm from the outside of the gate. On the bridge of the Great Fox, Dash approached Fox, who seemed troubled... {4 Automatic Action -> Donkey Kong Country Returns}
"What's wrong, Mr McCloud?" The young monkey asked.
"It's quiet. TOO quiet..." Fox replied, making Fay realize something.
"That's right... General Peppy sent a squadron of fighters up here, and he hasn't heard from them since..." She pointed out.
"The Anglar couldn't have taken them out... otherwise, we'd be seeing wreckage all over the place." Added Miyu, making everyone realize that there was no space junk out there.
"Maybe they've all been taken hostage?" Asked Dash, giving Fox an idea...
"ROB, try to get in touch with Beltino." He said.
"Affirmative." ROB replied, making Fox look back at the space between the Great Fox and the gate.

"(Dash might be on to something...)" Fox thought. "(With no evidence of a battle around, it'd make sense that the Anglar took over the gate, and claimed everyone else as POWs...)"
"Unable to establish contact with the gate." Stated ROB, making Fox turn to face the robot.
"Why not?" He asked.
"Communications are jammed by a signal similar to what cut our connection to General Peppy." ROB replied. Fox turned back to the view of the gate before making a decision...
"I'm going over there." He told everyone as he started to leave the bridge, startling everyone except ROB.
"What?!" Exclaimed Miyu.
"But Mr McCloud, it's too dangerous!" Added Dash, making Fox turn back around to face them; Dash, Fay & Miyu all looked worried for Fox.
"Too dangerous for the three of you." Fox pointed out. "ROB... if you don't hear from me in half-an-hour, take these three back to Corneria!"
"Affirmative." ROB replied, as Fox walked away from the bridge... leaving Dash, Fay & Miyu looking worried. Dash & Fay looked even more concerned when they saw Fox's Arwing fly towards the gate...

At that moment back in the ocean of Aquas, Octoman fired lasers at Amanda, but Slippy moved in front of the attack and rolled to deflect it, allowing Amanda to fire at Zako again! {5 Irate Eight (Tension) -> Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze} {5a Launch Octopus -> Mega Man Maverick Hunter X}
"What are you fools waiting for? Destroy them both!" Octoman shouted at his troops, making the rest of the Anglar move in to engage Slippy and Amanda.
"(Yikes! That's a lot of bad guys!)" Thought Slippy, before quickly shaking his head. "(No! That kind of thinking isn't going to help Amanda!)" With a determined look on his face, Slippy fired a torpedo at a small pack of the Anglar, taking them all out in the blast! Zako led another battalion of Anglar after Amanda, who was piloting her ship towards a dark crevasse.
"Everyone stay right behind me, cause we're following her into that crevasse!" Zako ordered, after he spotted Amanda's ship dive down into the crevasse. While Zako led his battalion down into the crevasse, he had no idea that Amanda hid in a cave just below the part of the crevasse that had light shining on it.
"I-I don't see anything, sir." Stated one of the Anglar soldiers. "M-maybe w-we should turn back..."
"Maybe you should shut up, soldier!" Zako shouted. "I saw that frog fly her ship down here. I know we're following her!" Before long, they all heard some kind of loud roar. "Whoever's hungry better stop that!"
"I... don't think that was us, sir..." Another Anglar pilot pointed out, making Zako nervous. Before long, four white lights appeared before them. But just before anyone fired, the lights got closer, revealing their true form; A large purple eel!
"Pull back! Pull back! PULL BACK!!" Yelled Zako, before he and his battalion all got eaten by the eel!

Back with Slippy and Octoman, the red octopus fired five small torpedoes at Slippy, but he blocked the attack with a torpedo of his own!
"You won't escape from me this time, froggy!" Warned Octoman, who began firing more lasers at Slippy, but the frog kept making the Blue-Marine roll to deflect his attacks.
"I'm not letting you take over my fiance's homeworld!" Slippy replied, making Octoman laugh. Little did either of them know that a certain tadpole-shaped ship was closing in on them...
"How noble of you..." Said Octoman, aiming his torpedoes at Slippy again. "...but the biggest threat to our creator's return MUST be eliminated! That means you, Star Fox!"
"'Creator?'" Slippy asked.
"DIE!!" Shouted Octoman, as he fired more torpedoes at Slippy, but they were shot by Amanda, who was closing in on the two!
"Amanda! I thought you'd gone back home!" Exclaimed Slippy.
"Nope. I was just lure some Anglar into a trap." Amanda happily replied with a giggle, making Octoman angry.
"Zako's dead? I'll make you pay for that!" He yelled, before launching more torpedoes, but Slippy blocked the attack with one of his own.
"Ready?" Asked Slippy, making Amanda nod. "Fire!" With the smoke from the torpedoes to hide them, Slippy & Amanda both fired at Octoman, causing serious damage to his ship!
"NO!!" He screamed as he released more torpedoes at Slippy, but they too were blocked, creating another cloud of smoke. This cloud was big enough for Octoman to make his escape. "You shall regret getting into a war with the Anglar!"

"Go get him, sweetie." Amanda told her fiance. "I'll be fine here." Slippy then gave Amanda a thumbs-up with a smile on his face, before piloting the Blue-Marine up towards the surface of Aquas. Soon, Slippy not only reached the surface, but he also found his Arwing, which was still completely intact! {6 Fortuna (Heroic Pursuit) -> Star Fox: Assault}
"Darn, communications are still jammed. Although..." Slippy said to himself before powering up the engines and blasted away from Aquas. "...maybe I can find the source and stop it. It'll be risky with just me, but I have to do this!" And so, Slippy piloted his Arwing away from Aquas, and towards whatever was jamming communications...

Meanwhile, Fox had just landed his Arwing within the Orbital Gate, before jumping out and arming himself with a blaster.
"It's still too quiet..." He said to himself as stayed close to his Arwing. "Beltino, this is Fox. What's going on?" All Fox heard in response was static, unaware he was being watched. "Repeat: Beltino, this is Fox McCloud. Please respond." Still nothing but static. Suddenly, a beam was fired at Fox, but he rolled out of harm's way. When Fox aimed his blaster at what fired at him, he saw a large robot that looked familiar... "What?! That looks like... that prototype from Andross' army..." {7 Event: I Refuse... -> Shadow The Hedgehog}
"Star Fox! Help!" Shouted a voice Fox knew all too well.
"Beltino!" He exclaimed as he saw the frog being shoved away from the screen by an Anglar soldier.
"You want to help him, Star Fox?" It asked. "Then surrender now, or get blasted to smithereens by this mech!" It was at this point that Fox put his blaster back in its holster... "Good boy..." ...before pulling some kind of handle off of his belt. "Wait, what's that?" Mere milliseconds later, Fox activated what was in his hand, and a beam-like blade emerged from it, emitting an aura of blue, purple and red all around it. "WHAT?!" {8 Tunnel Scene (X) -> Super Smash Bros Brawl}
"Let's see just what you've got." Fox challenged the robot as he held the blade in front of him with both hands. The robot fired a beam at Fox, but he sliced through it with his sword, before charging towards the robot and slashing at its legs, making it start floating in the air. The robot tried another beam, but Fox waved his hand over something shaped like an hexagon on his belt, making a half-visible hexagon appear in front of him, bouncing the beam back at the robot, sending it flying into a wall! Fox then dashed towards the battered robot, jumped up and stabbed it in the chest with his beam sword.

"Anyone else?" Fox asked just before the robot exploded, only to realize he was surrounded by Anglar troops, who were all aiming their weapons at him. "Dang it. Guess I got cocky..." {9 Event: Foolish Humans -> Shadow The Hedgehog}
"Lower your weapons and surrender, Star Fox!" Ordered one of the soldiers. "The Anglar have claimed this space station fair and square!"
"Where's Falco when I need him?!" Fox asked loud enough for everyone to hear. Suddenly, lasers were fired into the area, killing some of the Anglar troops and sparing Fox! When Fox looked at the exit, he spotted an Arwing flying behind his own, aswell as a certain blue bird flying it... {10 Course: Carrier Zone -> Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed}
"You called?" He jokingly asked.
"Falco!" Exclaimed Fox, as his friend landed his Arwing and jumped out.
"Looks like you could use a hand." Said Falco, as he armed himself with a blaster.
"No Falco, I've got this all under control." Fox replied, startling Falco.
"YOU bein' sarcastic to ME? That's a first."
"Well, since you're here, I could use some backup. Let's get to rescuing Beltino." Falco shrugged as Fox walked deeper into the station.
"All right, but Slip's gonna owe me big-time after this!" Falco replied as he ran after Fox.

Soon, Fox & Falco found themselves taking cover behind a wall, as they nearly ran into a group of Anglar firing lasers at them! Seeing the layout of the room while avoiding enemy fire, Falco smirked as he got an idea...
"Okay Fox..." He started as he clipped a hexagon of his own off of his belt. "Leave this to me."
"Why, what're you going to do?" Asked Fox.
"You'll see..." And on that note, Falco ran into the hallway, making the Anglar fire at him. But then Falco did something unexpected... he kicked his Reflector towards the enemy, making all of their attacks bounce back at them before it returned to Falco's belt! Fox didn't get to be amazed for too long, as he saw an Anglar soldier aiming at Falco from behind. Just before he fired, Fox raised his own Reflector up to bounce the laser back at the Anglar!
"How did you know that'd work?!" Asked Fox, making Falco shrug.
"Hey, I've been using it like this ever since Slippy gave it to me." Falco replied, making Fox smirk.
"Slippy doesn't know you're kicking it around, does he?"
"Hey, what Slip doesn't know won't hurt him." As he and Falco continued into the station, Fox shook his head with a smile on his face.

Meanwhile, within the bridge of the Great Fox, Dash & Fay were still staring at Fox's Arwing through the window, while Miyu was talking to ROB. {11 Sadness and Regret I -> Mega Man X: Command Mission}
"Fox doesn't know what he's talking about, ROB." She told ROB, as he remained in a neutral position. "I'm awesome on the field! By the time I'm done with those Anglar creeps, we'll be frying 'em up for dinner!"
"According to the Cornerian data banks, you were sent to patrol the sea base on Zoness. However, the data banks have no explanation as to how or why you left." Stated ROB, startling Miyu in the process. "Please explain your reasons behind your return to Corneria."
"...I don't wanna talk about it." She replied.
"Look, another Arwing!" Exclaimed Fay, as she pointed to an Arwing outside the station, shooting lasers into it. "Who could that be?" {12 Skyloft -> Hyrule Warriors}
"It's gotta be Falco Lombardi." Dash pointed out. "Who else is crazy enough to fire lasers directly into a landing bay?"
"Good point." Fay replied, before dancing with joy. "I knew things would turn around for Star Fox!" Looking at Fay's enthusiasm, Miyu couldn't help but smile.

"(Heh. That's Fay for you...) All right, we got Falco in there, and he's crazier than I am!" Fay yelled at ROB. "Just teleport me & Fay into the control room, and we can take back the Gate!"
"Negative. Fox's orders were to take the three of you back to Corneria after the alotted time had expired." ROB stated, making Miyu angry.
"Don't you have some kind of logic chip in you somewhere?!" She shouted. "Consider this: Sure, Fox now has Falco backing him up, but that place is still swarming with Anglar, like we suspected! If me & Fay can take the control room, we can drive the Anglar out with no problem!" This made ROB think for some time... "...Well?"
"Agreed." ROB replied, making Miyu pump her fist in triumph. "However, I calculate better odds of your plan succeeding if Dash were to accompany you." This got Dash & Fay's attention.
"We got the green light, guys." Miyu told them, giving the two some relief as the three of them armed themselves with blasters. "We're ready, ROB."
"Good luck to you all." ROB replied, before activating the teleporter array, making Miyu, Fay & Dash vanish from the Great Fox.

Around the same time, Beltino was tied up in the control room. The same control room where most of the Anglar in the room were aiming their weapons at Beltino, while the rest were messing with a monitor screen. {13 Norfair -> Super Smash Bros Brawl}
"Um, if you're attempting to contact your boss, may I suggest attaching the red and white wires to the red and white ports?" Beltino pointed out, making the Anglar messing with the wires angry.
"We are not interested in your suggestions, Director!" Said one of the soldiers, aiming his blaster at Beltino's head. "Just shut your trap until we can get in touch with the emperor." This was when the soldier turned to the Anglar at the monitor. "Where are we with that?"
"It'd be easier if I wasn't colour-blind, sir." It replied, making the Anglar in front of Beltino angry. Just then, one of the doors to the control room opened, allowing entry for two certain 'invaders.'
"Nobody move!" Fox shouted, as he and Falco aimed their blasters at some of the Anglar. While Fox was holding his blaster normally, Falco seemed to hold it sideways. Before Fox and Falco could say anything more, they both heard blasters being cocked behind them. When they slightly turned their heads away from each other, Fox & Falco saw the rest of the Anglar in the room, aiming their blasters at the two. "(Dang it! Our Reflectors aren't gonna be able to take this much firepower!)"

"Any last words, Star Fox?" Asked the Anglar leader, before Fox spotted something on a monitor that read "INCOMING TELEPORT SIGNAL FROM GREAT FOX"
"Yeah. Brace yourselves!" Fox shouted, before three beams of light appeared in the center of the control room, making all of the Anglar in the room aim at the beams. Just as the beams revealed Dash, Fay & Miyu, they created a wave that knocked all of the Anglar off of their feet, while Fox remained still, and Falco trembled slightly. {14 Objection! 2012 -> Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney}
"Still haven't fixed that, have you?" Asked Falco.
"Slippy never got around to it." Fox replied. "But I've found that it comes in handy."
"I can see why..." Said Falco, agreeing with Fox.
"Quickly, you fools! Pick a target and fire!" Yelled the Anglar leader, as he and the rest of the Anglar got to the feet. But before they could aim at anybody, they all had blasters aimed at them; Fox & Falco, Dash & Fay, and Miyu was armed with two blasters!
"Well, let's get these guys down to the brig." Fox told the good guys, who all nodded in agreement.

Later, after the prisoners were locked away, Fox had Dash, Miyu & Fay lined up in front of him in the control room. And he did not look happy... {15 Mission Briefing -> Star Fox: Assault}
"What were you three thinking?!" He shouted at them, making them flinch as they tightly shut their eyes and bear their teeth in fear. "You could've gotten yourselves killed!" This was when Falco decided to step in.
"Take it easy on 'em, Fox. They did a great job for a bunch of rookies." He said, before turning to Miyu. "Ya ever thought of joinin' us?"
"Well, of course I'd love-" Miyu replied, but was inturrupted by Fox grabbing Falco's shoulder.
"Falco, they're not ready for that kind of offer!" He told his friend. "And since when were YOU back on the team?!"
"C'mon Foxie, even I know you can't take on the Anglar alone." Falco replied. "Let's face it, if your team-mates hadn't shown up, me & you'd be fish food by now!"
"Falco is right, Fox. But this is not the time to argue!" Added Beltino, before directing their attention to a picture of a base surrounded by asteroids on a monitor. "I'm sure you're aware of this former Aparoid base within the Asteroid Belt, correct?" Both Fox & Falco nodded. "Well, it seems that this is where the Anglar are jamming communications all over the Lylat System. It's possible that are multiple distress signals being transmitted, but nothing would be getting through because of whatever interference is within this base."

"Then we'll just have to take it out!" Miyu said as she smacked her fist into her palm, making Fox turn around to face her in anger.
"You've done enough, Miyu!" He yelled at her. "The three of you are staying here to protect the Gate. Just go get your fighters out of the Great Fox." As Beltino teleported Dash, Fay & Miyu out of the control room, Fox turned to Falco, who seemed pretty smug. "Look, I know I was hard on them... but can I ask for your help, Falco?"
"Yeah, all right." Falco replied, giving Fox some relief. "But how come you're refusing to get new recruits who can clearly handle it?"
"Because I don't want to push them away from me, like I did with..." Fox angrily stated, but turned his back before mentioning who it was he drove away. {16 Event: Sea of Sorrow -> Shadow The Hedgehog}
"All right, all right." Said Falco, before placing his hand on Fox's shoulder. "C'mon. Let's get our Arwings back in the Great Fox. I could use some repairs!" At that moment, Fox looked out to the stars as he and Falco walked. And his mind -and his heart- were thinking about one thing, and one thing only...
"(Krystal...)"
